A NEW Marks and Spencer’s superstore opening this spring will be one of the company’s greenest in Britain.
The 100,000sq ft store will open at the Vangarde Shopping Park, Monks Cross, York, on April 10 and will have ‘living’ walls, electric car charging points and 600 solar panels..
A spokeswoman said the two green living walls, totalling over 1,800 sq ft, will be designed to attract wildlife and retain heat, and the store will also feature a 60,000 litre tank to recycle rainwater and reduce mains water usage.
