A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the stabbing of a 28-year-old man.
The victim was stabbed in the stomach in a house in Aire Street, Middlesbrough at about 12.45am on Monday (February 24).
His 26-year-old alleged attacker also suffered injuries but the man was released from hospital and into police custody for earlier today (Tuesday, February 25).
The victim is still in a stable condition in James Cook University Hospital but police said his injuries were not life-threatening.
Cleveland Police had cordoned off an area of the street and scenes of crime officers were seen entering the property which had a smashed window.
A force spokesman explained the alleged attacker was held under arrest in the hospital and taken straight into custody for questioning when he was well enough to leave.
