POLICE are warning people to remain vigilant against a team of pick pockets operating in the North-East.
Officers are investigating two incidents, one of theft and another of attempted theft, in Asda, Bishop Auckland, at about lunchtime on Sunday, February 23.
Both incidents involved bumping into or distracting customers while pick pocketing them.
Police believe the thieves are also watching people at cash machines in order to obtain pin numbers before stealing purses.
Witnesses should call DC Peter Lonsdale, of Bishop Auckland priority crime team, on 101.
