CHILDREN have given their primary school a red and white makeover as the countdown continues to Sunderland’s cup final clash with Manchester City.
Pupils at West Rainton Primary School, near Durham City, are hanging decorations in Sunderland’s colours around their classrooms ahead of Sunday’s Capital One cup final.

Head teacher Alison McDonough said: "Many of our pupils are really excited about the Capital One Cup final and this is a great way for them to express that enthusiasm."
The re-decoration has been carried out in support of the Red and White City campaign, run by SAFC’s official charity, the Foundation of Light.
As part of the campaign, schools, businesses and SAFC supporters across the region are being encouraged to showcase their passion for the club by hanging decorations like the pupils at West Rainton Primary School or by wearing the club’s trademark red and white stripes.
Anyone taking part can share photos of their efforts by emailing them to info@foundationoflight.co.uk with the chance of winning free tickets to a game at the Stadium of Light.
The Foundation of Light is also fundraising through the Red & White City campaign with participants being asked to make a £1 donation to the charity.
