A STUDENT festival will revive memories of last year’s Lumiere light spectacular next month (March 9-16).
Echo of the Lumiere will feature light-based art installations around Durham Castle and will run for seven nights, from March 9 to 16.
The art, by Durham University students, will include one inspired by the ghost said to haunt the castle’s black staircase and another of a garden gnome in the master’s garden.
It has been funded by University College master Professor David Held and is being led by senior common room member Gosha Bialek, an internationally-renowned artist.
The art is currently being created and assembled in Bialek’s Durham City studio.
Lumiere 2013 saw about 175,000 people visit Durham City over four nights last November.
