A NORTH-EAST bar and restaurant is hoping to scoop a national award for the second year running.
Voodoo Café, in Darlington, has been nominated for the best Latin restaurant outside of London in the annual Latin UK Awards (LUKAS).
The awards celebrate the best of Britain’s Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese residents and businesses.
The restaurant fought off competition from across the country to win the accolade in last year’s competition, and the restaurant’s owners, Les and Kendra Fry, are hoping to win the title again.
The café opened in 2007 and has developed a reputation for Mexican food, cocktails and tequila, as well as salsa and tango dancing sessions.
