A HOSPICE charity is offering a scenic treat this Mothers’ Day with a ride on the Wensleydale Railway.
Herriot Hospice Homecare is organising its third annual afternoon train ride, which will include a tour through Wensleydale from Leeming Bar to Redmire, near Leyburn, on Sunday, March 30.
The event will feature entertainment, music and afternoon tea and all proceeds will go to Herriot Hospice Homecare’s work providing care to terminally-ill patients who wish to remain at home in Hambleton and Richmondshire.
Charity fundraiser Christine Robinson said: “Due to the success and feedback that we have had from the last two years we have decided to run the Mothers’ Day Express train again this year.
“Every lady on board will also receive some flowers - a perfect way to end the journey.”
The train will depart at noon from Leeming Bar station and return at 2.40pm.
Tickets, costing £20 per adult and £10 for under 10s, are available by calling 01609-777413, FR-Team@herriothh.org.uk, www.herriothh.org.uk or at the charity shop in Northallerton High Street.
