DARLINGTON FC has welcomed investment from a local business owner.
Harwinder Kaur, franchisee of four Subway outlets in Darlington and Newton Aycliffe, has made what the club called a “significant investment”.
The businesswoman, who lives in Darlington, said: “It is important that the whole town gets behind Darlington FC and helps it to get back playing in the town again.
“Subway will hopefully form a long-term partnership with the club going forward and I believe in supporting the grassroots foundations that the Quakers have laid down as they begin to climb back up the leagues.”
The club said it was delighted with the response to its latest fundraising drive as it bids to return home to Darlington.
The deadline for investing in the club via the squarenot.co.uk platform ends at midnight on Monday, February 24.
More than £60,000 has been raised through the site, exceeding the initial target of £50,000.
