POLICE are appealing for information after a takeaway delivery man was robbed at knifepoint.
The incident took place in Gateshead at about 10pm on Saturday (February 22) when the man was delivering at Wallace Gardens, off Leam Lane.
The 28-year-old was approached by two men. One punched him in the face and the second threatened him with a knife.
The first man then searched the victim's pockets and stole an amount of cash before they both ran off.
Northumbria Police said the victim suffered bruising to his eye in the incident.
The first man is described as white, aged in his mid 20s, about 6ft tall and of medium build, with a big nose and clean shaven.
The second man was white, aged in his mid 20s, slightly smaller than the other man, and of medium build.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the robbery, anyone who recognises the descriptions or anyone who has information about those involved to contact them as soon as possible on 101 extension 69191, quoting reference 1460 22/02/14, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555111.
