BEREAVED families have planted snowdrops in a County Durham park in memory of their loved ones.
Today (Sunday, February 23) was the seventh annual snowdrop planting at Hardwick Park in Sedgefield organised by Child Bereavement UK.
The event is organised by the charity and Sedgefield residents David and Julie Kilpatrick who were supported by Child Bereavement UK when their son Matthew was still born in 2003.
As well as planting the flowers in memory of their loved ones, families could also make their entries in a book of remembrance.
Chief Executive of Child Bereavement UK, Ann Chalmers said: “We are very grateful to Julie and David Kilpatrick for their huge commitment to this important event for bereaved families and for their continued generous support of the Snowdrop Walk.
“This is a special day in Child Bereavement UK’s calendar and the funds raised will go towards our vital work supporting grieving families when a child dies or is bereaved."
