THREE people suffered injuries after a car overturned near a County Durham racecourse in the early hours of this morning (February 23).
Fire fighters had to cut two of the people out of the Ford Fiesta after it left the road near Sedgefield Racecourse and overturned in a ditch at about 2.20am.
A 47-year-old man managed to free himself from the car before the emergency services arrived, with two women, a 46-year-old and 29-year-old, having to be cut free.
All three were taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital suffering from multiple injuries, although none are thought to be life-threatening.
Fire crews from Newton Aycliffe and Sedgefield attended along with the special rescue unit from Bishop Auckland.
A spokesman for the County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said the incident officially ended shortly before 3.40am.
Durham Police are now investigating.
