THE SIGHTS and sounds of the First World War were brought back to life this weekend.
A living history group evoked the misery of life in the trenches for Darlington residents when they visited the town on Saturday, February 22.
The Time Bandits, a historical interpretation group, lead people back into the past as they shared the stories of those who served in the Great War and exhibited artefacts from the era.
The lives of nurses, soldiers and ordinary people were explored by members of the group, dressed for the occasion.
The interactive experience was part of Remembering Our War 1914-1918, a project designed to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.
The Time Bandits visited the Dolphin Centre, The Bridge and the Crown Street Library. On Saturday, March 8, the group will visit Hartlepool where they will share their tales at the Grayfields Sports Pavilion between 6pm and 8pm.
