A FARM in north Durham is celebrating its success as a tourist attraction with another national award.
Hall Hill Farm, near Lanchester, has scooped the title of Best In Education in the National Farm Attraction Network (NFAN) awards beating competition from scores of similar attractions across the country.
The popular attraction was also recently awarded a silver award in Tourism Experience of the Year and bronze for Small Visitor Attraction in the 2013 North East Tourism Awards and is now welcoming its first visitors of the year.
Tourism manager Ann Darlington said: “We are thrilled to be named as Best in Education, as we were up against farm attractions from all over the country.
“This prestigious award is fantastic news for everyone at Hall Hill Farm.
“We have all worked very hard to make sure that we provide each visitor with an enjoyable and memorable experience. The fact we have won another national award is a real credit to all of our staff."
Hall Hill Farm aims to be both educational and entertaining as a farm attraction, helping to tell the story of the region’s countryside.
As well as welcoming many school groups last year the Durham farm streamed the lambing process into people’s homes where via PCs and laptops viewers could watch live births.
