POLICE are hunting a yob who threw a giant stone through a house window.
A 69-year-old woman who suffers from MS and lives along was in the lounge of her house when the glass was shattered.
On the floor she found a brick measuring around 18 inches by eight inches.
The incident happened at around 7.15pm on Thursday night on Belle Street in Stanley.
The woman, who does not wish to be named, was not hurt but was very shaken.
She said: βI was just sitting there watching Emmerdale and all of a sudden a brick came through the window. The curtains were drawn so I got up a phoned for a neighbour to come down.
βIt gave me quite a shock. I did not know what was happening.β
The window has been boarded up and police are investigating.
Anyone with information can call the police on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
