A COUNTRY hall has won an award for its walled garden in a ceremony that recognises the very best in heritage experiences.
Kiplin Hall, near Richmond, has picked up a 2014 Hudson’s Heritage Award with a highly commended in the best new commission category for the walled garden restoration.
The ceremony took place on Tuesday, February 18 at Goldsmiths Hall in London.
The awards, established in 2011, are open to historic houses, gardens, museums and heritage sites and were presented by Lloyd Grossman OBE.
Dawn Webster, curator at Kiplin Hall said “We are absolutely delighted to have been highly commended in the 2014 Hudson’s Heritage Awards.
"It is a great testament to the hard work and dedication of our head gardener, Chris Baker, and the volunteers who work so hard alongside him.
“Receiving this award is a wonderful acknowledgment and recognition that Kiplin is among the best heritage attractions in the UK.”
Mr Grossman said: “This is clearly a work of love, providing home grown produce for the tearooms and herbs, fruit and vegetables for the garden produce cart.”
