FUNDRAISING for the refurbishment of Reeth Memorial Hall continues on Saturday, March 8, with an evening of traditional folk music and stories.
Zeke Deighton will present a variety of folk songs, readings and anecdotes covering his memories of growing up in a small Yorkshire village in the 1940s.
His show, Country Life - A Country Childhood in Words and Song, is a glimpse into a way of life which had hardly changed for centuries but is now gone forever; a world before television, motorways and the hustle and bustle of the 21st century, where life and work proceeded at the pace of the heavy horses that powered it.
Tickets are £5 in advance or £6 on the door (under 16s half price). They are on sale at Reeth Post Office or by contacting John Little 01748-884759. The concert starts at 8pm and all profits are for the hall.
