A WORKSHOP on jewellery making will take place at the Old School House Arts Centre in Leyburn on Tuesdays March 4, April 1, May 6 and June 3 from 1pm until 3pm.

The tutor will be textile jewellery artist Kathryn Guy and costs £26 for four sessions, including refreshments.

GREEN WASTE: Collections of garden waste will start again next week in Richmondshire. Residents are reminded that their green bins will only be collected if they have subscribed to the garden waste collections scheme for £17 per bin per year – additional bins are discounted to £12 each. Residents can join the scheme at any time throughout the year.

CHARITY EVENING: Berry’s Farm Shop and Cafe, in Swinithwaite, near Leyburn, will be holding a cheese and wine evening to raise cash for the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust on Friday, February 28, at 7.30pm, for over 18s. Michael Lee, of Fine Cheeses of Yorkshire, will introduce a selection of cheese from local and international producers, served with wines from around the world under the guidance of Corks and Cases of Masham. There will be an auction to raise funds for the YDMT. Booking is essential.
