A SOCIAL justice conference will gather leaders from the charity, church and state sectors next month.
Changing Communities will be held in Durham City from March 14 to 16.
It will begin with the launch of Ideas Hive, a new website focused on social injustice in County Durham.
This event will take place in Durham Indoor Market on Friday, March 14, from 8pm to 9.30pm and will include talks by Jessie Joe Jacobs, founder of Stockton charity A Way Out, and social entrepreneur Kate Welch.
The following day there will be a full-day free Churches That Change Communities conference at The Durham Centre, Belmont Industrial Estate, with speakers including Jubilee Plus leader Martin Charlesworth and Lorraine O’Donnell, assistant chief executive of Durham County Council.
The conference runs from 10am to 4pm, with a free lunch.
On Sunday, Mr Charlesworth will speak at Emmanuel Church Durham’s morning service, at 10.30am at The Durham Centre.
