AN INQUEST is to be held into the death of a student whose body was recovered from the River Wear.
Sopefoluwa Peters, a second-year economics student at Durham University, disappeared while on a night out with friends on October 29.
He was last seen alive shortly after midnight outside Klute nightclub, near Elvet Bridge, Durham.
The body of the 20-year-old, known as Sope, was recovered more than five weeks later.
Police do not believe anyone else was involved in his disappearance.
An inquest into Mr Peters’ death will be held at the Coroner’s Court, in Crook, on Wednesday, April 9.
