POETS Margaret Williams, of Hurworth, near Darlington, and Dane Bowen, formerly of Gainford, County Durham, sold copies of an anthology they contributed to. They managed to raise £165 for the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

CHARITY NIGHT: Paul Cook, a design manager for EE, in Darlington, is holding a black-tie event at Rockliffe Hall Hotel, on March 7, to raise funds for Children with Cancer. He is also running the London Marathon in April. Mr Cook raised more than £12,000 at a fundraiser last year and is hoping to beat that target this year.
