POLICE are investigating after hundreds of pounds worth of tobacco was stolen during a burglary at a garage.
Thieves broke into Cook’s Garage, in New Road, Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire, at about 1.15am on Saturday (February 15).
Various brands of cigarettes, worth about £300, were stolen, along with petrol cans valued at £50.
PC Dave Kirk, of Malton police, said: “If you saw any unusual vehicles or people acting suspiciously in Kirkbymoorside around the time of the burglary I ask you to contact the police straight away.
“I am also keen to speak to anyone who may have been offered cigarettes or petrol cans in odd circumstances and ask them to get in touch.”
