YOUNGSTERS have created a dance routine to feature in a Darlington Civic Theatre show starring a comedy legend.
Stu Francis, of Basil Brush and Crackerjack fame, stars in the Good Old Days of Music Hall and Variety at the Civic, and the theatre has used its ArtsSpark Youth Theatre and Dance club to involve children in tomorrow’s (Tuesday, February 18) matinee performance.
Beth Stobbart, who starred as Princess Jasmine in the theatre’s recent Aladdin pantomime, worked with dance leader Debbie Waistell to help youngsters create the special one-off song and dance routine for the show.
The production celebrates the golden years of variety entertainment and features Mark Walsh – a ukulele specialist from BBC Radio 2's Friday Night is Music Night – as well as a full supporting company of singers, comedy, a live band, and lots of well-known songs.
