TACKLING anti-social behaviour (ASB) in a town centre will remain a top priority for police as decided by the public.
At a monthly Police And the Community Together (Pact) in Crook, it was agreed that officers would continue to make dealing with anti-social behaviour a priority.
A spokesman for Crook Neighbourhood Policing Team said officers have been targeting the issue for the past month.
The spokesman said: “Police have carried out 81 patrols, resulting in 17 ASB letters being sent home to parents whose children had been committing anti-social behaviour.
“Three footballs have been seized after complaints were received about them being kicked off windows, three youths have been stopped with alcohol.
“One youth has signed an acceptable behaviour contact, one Interim Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) have been given to a problem youth and two people youths are awaiting court date for their ASBO hearings.”
