FIRE crews were called to a house tonight after reports that people were trapped inside a burning building.
Three fire engines were sent to a house in Borough Road, in Darlington shortly before 9pm after a blaze broke out on the ground floor.
A spokesman for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fortunately nobody was hurt and crews extinguished a fire on the ground floor using hose reels and breathing apparatus."
Two fire crews from Darlington were sent to the scene, backed up by colleagues from Newton Aycliffe.
