TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of burgling a house armed with a knife and a hammer.
The incident happened at 7.20am on Saturday, February 15, at an address in Shepherd Street, Sunderland.
Two men forced entry into the house and threatened a 20-year-old man.
The men then damaged a car as they left.
Three cars were also damaged in nearby Neville Street.
The 20-year-old received hospital treatment for minor injuries.
Two men, aged 21 and 22, have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and have been released on police bail.
The weapons were recovered nearby.
Officers are carrying out enquiries and asking anyone who has any information to contact them.
