BARNARD CASTLE'S Robert Dinwiddie was rewarded for four solid rounds of golf at the African Open to the tune of around £6,000.
Dinwiddie carded his third successive 68, three under, at the East London Club yesterday to finish tied 34th.
He finished nine shots off the eventual winner, Thomas Aiken, on 11 under for the tournament, just seven days after another impressive finish at the Joburg Open.
Dinwiddie made three birdies on the front nine before dropping a shot at the tenth. He steadied himself for the remainder of the round and birdied the 16th to end on a high.
Malton & Norton's Simon Dyson and Harrogate's John Parry both missed the cut.
