A TEACHER died after a freak fall when her spooked horse bolted before she had properly mounted.
Jayne Goodwin, originally from Stockton, suffered massive injuries and died three weeks later following a decision to switch off her life support machine.
Miss Goodwin, had been out for an evening ride with two friends in Wakefield when her six-year-old Freisian, Kali, suddenly bolted.
The horse is thought to have galloped off on January 9, as the 44-year-old tried to mount her.
Miss Goodwin was found bleeding and unconscious on the ground just yards from the stables.
The primary teacher at Half Acres school in Castleford, West Yorkshire, leaves behind her parents Audrey, 76, and Frank, 82.
She was an experienced rider who had won a number of local dressage competitions. The pet lover kept seven horses and many other animals.
