A FARM attraction in the North-East is welcoming its newest arrival in time for half term.

The white male Alpaca, born to Oscar at Hall Hill Farm, near Lanchester in County Durham, is just a week old.

Visitors are being asked to help to name the youngster during the school break.

He joins two new litters of piglets from Peppa and Tilly as well as new chicks and some frisky pygmy goat kids.

Ann Darlington, tourism manager, said: “It is such a great time of year when the new animals start arriving.

“None of us ever tire of seeing happy smiles on our visitors faces when they see the new arrivals at the farm.

“As well as typical farm animals, we also have the more unusual alpaca, llama and wallabies that have become very popular.”

Visitors can bottle feed lambs, see fluffy chicks, inquisitive goats, magnificent Highland Cattle and get close to children’s favourites such as guinea pigs and rabbits, as well as enjoy a tractor or donkey ride around the beautiful countryside.
