Detectives investigating a brutal attack on a 42-year-old man in Middlesbrough have arrested two more people.
Gerard Williams was left in a coma after suffering fractures to his skull, arms and legs during an attack described by police as deliberately targeted and sustained.
One woman was arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding and another woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit section 18 wounding yesterday (Friday, February 14).
Both are in their 40s and both have been bailed pending further enquiries.
The father-of-three was discovered on grassland in Weatherhead Avenue in the Whinney Banks area of Middlesbrough at about 7.45pm on Thursday, January 30.
Three men were later arrested - a younger man on suspicion of conspiracy to commit Section 18 wounding and two men in their 40s were arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding.
A 23-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit Section 18 wounding.
