ORGANISERS of an annual walking festival have released details for this year’s event, with rambling and food the key themes.
The North Pennines Walking Festival was first held last year with more than 50 walks and events taking place across the North Pennines area.
And the team behind the festival, Friends of the North Pennines, has confirmed it will return again this year.
It will be held between September 27 and October 5.
A spokeswoman for the festival said: “There will be a packed programme of walks and events right across the North Pennines celebrating the best local produce the hills and dales have to offer.
“Whether it’s a long hike or a short family ramble the second North Pennines Walking Festival promises something for everyone.
“So be sure to put the dates in your diary now.”
