A HOMELESS man who stole ten cans of lager from a Darlington Sainsbury’s has been sentenced to a six-month community order.
Nicholas Roberts, 23, admitted the theft when he appeared before Darlington Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday, February 13).
The court heard that Roberts wanted to work with the probation service to improve his circumstances.
He was ordered to pay £10.50 compensation to Sainsbury’s for the Stella Artois he stole in September.
