DOGS waiting to be rehomed can enjoy a warmer winter thanks to a knitting group.
The Knit and Knatter group based at Willington Community Action Centre has made 19 blankets for dogs at Dogs Trust Darlington’s Rehoming Centre.
Rebecca McKeown from the Dogs Trust said: “The lovely ladies at Willington Community Action Knit and Knatter Group have given us 19 cosy knitted blankets which I am sure the dogs in our care will love.”
Brian Myers from Willington Community Action said: “This latest project from our ladies typifies what we are trying to achieve at the centre along the lines of community participation.
“This is the latest in a series of projects that all have a community focus and we hope to spread this over the full age spectrum in the future to try and recreate the community spirit of the 50s and 60s.”
