FTBpro writer and FdA Journalism student Jack Kenmare has been invited to London to meet famous Match of the Day pundit Alan Hansen for a Q and A session and an in-depth match analysis from the former Liverpool star.

The 20-year-old will join other FTBpro writers to watch a Champions League match Manchester City v Barcelona on February 18 when Hansen will provide his match analysis followed by a meet and greet session.

FTBpro is the largest fan-generated football media brand globally, delivering analysis from over 1,700 contributors and comments from millions of fans. Football writers join the platform to publish articles, create top football content and participate in the debate.

Journalism student Jack Kenmare joined the website in December after FTBpro project leader Daniel Shuman visited Darlington College to talk to students.

"I was very impressed by the stats FTBpro presented to the class when they visited the college, so I decided to join and write two articles to begin with. I wrote my first article and it received over 6,000 views."

"I continued to write for the website and they offered me a place as a writer. I produce around 2-3 articles per week and in total, I have had 29 articles published and have received over 450,000 views all together.

"It has been a fantastic way to showcase my writing ability and I am thoroughly enjoying the challenges of being an online journalist."

Ben Hardy, a NCTJ Journalism diploma student at the college, has also scored success with FTBpro.

The journalism graduate, who already has his NCTJ sports journalism qualification,  has won a FTBpro competition to win a signed England shirt where  entrants had to write an original 'Top 9' article on any off-beat topic.  Ben’s work will be featured once he receives his prize.
