ONE half of a well-loved comedy duo will be taking to the stage in a North Yorkshire town as part of festival to spread love in the community.
Bobby Ball – famed for his comedy act with Tommy Cannon as Cannon and Ball – will perform in Norton on Derwent, near Malton, for Love Norton ’14, organised by churches across the town.
The Revd Rachel Hirst, vicar of St Peter’s Church said: “Norton on Derwent is a lovely place, but it can sometimes be overlooked, especially as it’s so close to Malton. “Love Norton ’14 is a year of events organised by the churches - we believe God loves Norton, and we want to share that love with people here. “We want to remind people that their town is not second best, there are great things about Norton, and it’s a great place to live.”
Bobby said: “I’m delighted to be performing in Norton on Derwent, and I think it’s great that the churches are spreading some love and laughter with Love Norton ’14. “I’ll be sharing stories about my life and faith, and having some fun. I want to show people that being a Christian is not boring. In fact it’s the opposite, it’s great.”
Bobby will be performing at St Peter’s Church House, Langton Road, Norton, on Friday, February 21 at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £5 and are available on the door or on 01653-699961. For more information visit www.lovenorton14.wordpress.com or www.facebook.com/LoveNorton14.
