A COUNCIL is urging people to nominate unsung heroes for a medal from its chairman.
Durham County Council is looking for individuals or organisations that have done something great for their community who can be rewarded with the authority’s highest honour- The Chairman’s Medal.
The medal is presented to individuals and groups to recognise significant achievement and outstanding effort in all walks of life and nominations can be taken up until Friday (February 14).
Durham County Council Chairman, Pauline Charlton, will be holding a ceremony in April to award chosen individuals for voluntary effort or outstanding charitable organisations.
The award is open to all ages.
Completed forms should be sent to the Chairman’s Office, Durham County Council, County Hall, Durham DH1 5UL.
Anyone can nominate an organisation or individual for a medal.
