AN MP marked a national literary celebration by reading with her constituents at a North-East library.
Bishop Auckland MP Helen Goodman, who is the Shadow Minister for Libraries, visited Shildon Library, in County Durham, yesterday (Saturday) to mark National Libraries Day.
During her visit, she read books with children and met with adult users.
Among those who met Ms Goodman were Alisha Dent, aged 11, and Kate Box, aged nine.
Events took place at libraries across the region to mark the third annual event, which celebrates and highlights the work of libraries and their staff who work to promote learning, literacy and the enjoyment of reading.
