A PEDESTRIAN in York was left with serious injuries after being struck by a taxi on Saturday night.
Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the incident at about 12.15am on Saturday, at the junction of Boroughbridge Road and Carr Lane to come forward.
The collision involved a silver Skoda Octavia taxi, travelling along Boroughbridge Road towards the city, and a 31-year-old York man, crossing the road from Carr Lane towards Ouse Acres.
The man suffered a serious head injury and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary, where he remains in a stable condition.
Traffic Constable Andy Morton said: “I am particularly keen to trace the driver of a dark coloured vehicle waiting to turn right from Boroughbridge Road into Carr Lane around the time of the collision, as I believe they may have vital information which could assist my enquiries.”
Anyone who can assist with this investigation should contact York police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Andy Morton or email andrew.morton@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk, quoting reference number 12140020868.
