One person has died this evening in a collision involving three vehicles on the A174 Brotton bypass in east Cleveland.
A number of people were injured and were taken by several ambulances to James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. The collision happened at around 5pm.
The male victim suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rapid response paramedics responded along with the Great North Air Ambulance with the doctor-led trauma team aboard.
The A174 remains closed at the junction with North Skelton to the Kilton Lane roundabout.
Anyone with information is urged to call police on the non-emergency number 101.
