A WOMAN suffered bruising to her face after being attacked with a broom handle in Bishop Auckland.
The female victim was attacked near the Chinese takeaway on Gibbon Street at about 10pm on Monday, February 3.
The attacker was another woman described as white, early 20s, with shoulder length blonde hair.
PC Jamie Pitt said: “It is believed that the female has used an implement of some sort – possibly a broom handle which has caused significant injuries to the victim – bruising to her face.”
PC Pitt said another woman was also present, and she is described as being white, in her early 20s with shoulder length brown hair and a white tracksuit top or jacket.
Anyone with information or witnessed the attack is asked to contact PC Pitt at Bishop Auckland Police Station on 101.
