COUNTY Durham golfer Roger Roper suffered disappointment on the final day at European Tour Qualifying School yesterday.
After holding one of the top six spots that would have clinched a full card on Wednesday, Roper carded a 75 to drop down to three-over for the tournament at the Pestana Golf Resort.
The slip proved further costly too, as he also dropped out of the top 14, which would have secured a conditional card.
Now the Darlington pro will be relying on invites and qualifying for Tour events this year.
That is the same situation facing Eaglescliffe pro Graeme Bell. He ended with a second 74 to finish the four days in the Algarve on eight over.
Matfen Hall's John Harrison was a shot further back after his final round 72.
