POLICE are hunting a pair of bleach thieves.
Crooks stole a metal chest containing sodium hypochlorite from a car park on Old Elvet, Durham City, between 10.30am and 10.50am on Wednesday (February 5).
Police are looking for two men who were seen in the area wearing hard hats. They are believed to have left in a white van.
The yellow chest measures 1.2m by 60cm by 40cm and was secured with two padlocks.
It is marked with the words ‘chemical care’, ‘hazardous’ and ‘staff only’ and contains six 20-litre black plastic drums filled with sodium hypochlorite, each marked ‘corrosive’.
Durham Police are appealing to anyone with information to call the non-emergency number, 101.
