DURHAM coach Lee Davie feels that Wildcats will meet their match against Birmingham Knights on Sunday.
Fresh from a run of three wins from four - including victory over current champions and BBL Cup winners Leicester Riders - Wildcats have found their feet in the British Basketball League.
Knights, in their first season in the BBL, are rock bottom, but Davie sees similarities between his side and the West Midlands outfit.
“They are a young, athletic team and we're also a young and athletic team, so we match up quite well and can keep up with their speed and athleticism,” said Davie.
“I think we have the slight edge with the veteran guys we have. We have Ralph Bucci, Paul Elderkin, Danny Huffor, Joel Madourie and Odiba Attah, so we've got five guys with BBL experience and who have been there and done it - whereas they're still feeling out the club as it's their first year."
Whilst Knights' head-coach Paul Douglas wasn't present at the previous meeting between the clubs due to the birth of his son, he wasn't any less disappointed with the way his players performed against Wildcats, who played London Lions at the Copper Box Arena last night.
Davie hopes Wildcats can put on a repeat of that display two weeks ago.
"The previous game against Knights was a good day for us since it helped build up momentum heading into the next stretch of games, although (Coach) Dougie wasn't there. He has always had an impact with all his teams, so having him there [this time] is going to be good for them.
Douglas said: "Durham kicked our butts last time we played them and although I was not there, we should have competed much better than we did.
"They will look to get back on track with us as all teams do after suffering a loss, but we need to go to them with some fire in our belly."
With trying to predict what kind of Durham team might turn up almost impossible, Douglas is particularly keen to focus only on his own side.
"On their day, they will give any of the top four a tough game," conceded the play-caller.
"But it must also be very frustrating for Coach Davie to see his team play so well one game and then the opposite the next.
"I don't look at the fact that they are a bit hot and cold. I like to look at what we should be doing and if we do that, then we can get a good result if they are not at their best.
"But for us, it's still very much about stringing four good quarters together."
