TICKETS are now on sale for a charity dinner and dance that will help raise funds for two worthy causes.
The event, named Easter Feast, is being held on Friday, April 18 at Bannatyne Hotel, in Darlington, in aid of the town’s homeless charity, the 700 Club, and Diabetes UK.
Organiser of the event, Jade Sloan, said she hopes the evening will not only raise funds for the two charities, but will help to raise more awareness of Type 1 diabetes, of which she has lived with for more than 24 years.
The 28-year-old said: “I want to create more awareness about it as people often assume it’s the same as Type 2 and we always get tarred with the same brush, but it is completely different.
“Type 1 is hereditary, but Type 2 is often caused by lifestyle.”
Tickets are £35 and include a welcome glass of champagne, three-course meal with wine on the table, grand prize draw and disco. Fundraising games will also be on offer at an extra cost.
Mrs Sloan is appealing to local businesses, including hotels, to donate prizes for the grand prize draw.
