GUNS will thunder in York this week as the Army and the city pay tribute to the Queen.

York is the only saluting station in England between London and Edinburgh and the royal tribute with will take place in Museum Gardens at midday.
It will be carried out with 105mm artillery by soldiers from 4th Regiment Royal Artillery, based in Alanbrooke Barracks, Topcliffe, and will be open to the public to watch.
The celebrations will begin at 10.45am, when the Heavy Cavalry and Cambrai Band, based in Catterick, perform a marching display on their way from Duncombe Place, near York Minister, to Museum Gardens.
The Band will reach the Gardens at 11.30am, and continue to entertain onlookers until just before the salute is fired at midday.
