Store scheme: A planning application for a 3,490 sq m food store, petrol station and health unit on York Road, Easingwold, will go before Hambleton District Council’s planning committee on Thursday. It has been recommended for approval despite more than 30 objections.
Tax rise: Council tax in York could go up by 1.9 per cent and 240 council jobs in the city could disappear as the City of York Council attempts to save £23m over the next two years. The authority will decide on its budget on February 27.
