Triathlon Pink will be held in Sunderland on Sunday June 29 for women of all ages and abilities to have a fun day out take part in swimming, cycling and running.

The chief operating officer of events company Sunderland Live, Chris Alexander, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing yet another brilliant event to this year’s events calendar proving there really is something for everyone.

“The Triathlon Pink is for a great cause and we’re proud to support and help deliver such a fantastic event.”

Michaela Smith, Participation Manager of Triathlon Pink UK, said, "Triathlon Pink really offers women the chance to socially connect while being active and supporting each other towards a common goal.

"The format provides women with a safe and non-threatening environment to participate as well as giving them the rare chance to do something just for themselves."

The Triathlon Pink series in the UK aims to raise £1m for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, having raised millions in Australia since 2006.
