NOMINATIONS for the Three Towns youth awards need to be submitted by the end of the week.

The Three Towns Youth forum is appealing for entrants for its third Youth Awards, recognising the work of youngsters in the Crook, Willington and Tow law area.

There are eight award categories, including three new ones, such as the silverlining award, for someone who shows a positive attitude in the face of adversity, youth project of the year and young role model.

Anyone aged from nine to 18 can be nominated, while the young person's choice award is for an adult who contributes towards activities for youngsters.

Other categories include help in the community award, hero award, young carer and the wild card.

The deadline is Friday, February 7, with the awards expected to be held in April.

Nomination forms are available from 03000-267539 or downloaded from threetownsaap@durham.gov.uk
