A CHARITY is urgently trying to recruit another cook after a reorganisation of its staff.
The Open Arms Group, based in Leadgate, near Consett, Durham County, is a befriending charity which provides a lunch club and activities for the elderly, disabled and people with learning difficulties or mental health problems.
When the group reconvenes after the holidays, on Monday, January 8, the current cook will be taking on the position of project manager, leaving a vacancy for her present position which the charity is struggling to fill.
The paid position is based at the Methodist Chapel, in Leadgate, providing meals three times a week for between 30 and 70 people.
A spokesman for the charity said: "Its a great place to work, and it can be very rewarding working in such a friendly, family atmosphere.
"The job would suit someone with children, or a housewife looking for company, and people with disabilities are always welcome to apply."
To find out more, ring the Jobcentre at Consett on 01207-212121, or visit the Open Arms Group at Leadgate Chapel any Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
