A SCHOOL pupil has won a competition to design a logo to combat bullying.
Madyson Alderson, nine, of St Mark's Elmtree CE Primary School, in Stockton, won the competition to design a logo for Stockton Borough Council's anti-bullying service.
The competition, organised by anti-bullying officer Anna-Michele Hantler, ran as part of National Anti-Bullying week.
Madyson received a certificate and £50-worth of vouchers for the school, in addition to a workshop session with dance company Urban Kaos.
The logo will be used in schools that sign up to anti-bullying accreditation and will be launched during next year's anti-bullying week.
Councillor Alex Cunningham, the council's cabinet member for children and young people, said: "Bullying is a very sensitive subject, affecting many people across the country, and I want to congratulate Madyson for all her hard work in creating a logo to raise awareness of it."
Ms Hantler said: " One of the reasons we chose her design is because it had a positive, all-embracing image and is about us all working together to reduce bullying."
The runner-up was Garrin Fearns, ten, from Oakdene Primary School, in Billingham.
