PUPILS had an IT Christmas thanks to a company's gift.
Youngsters at Beamish Primary School received ten lap- top computers from Procter and Gamble (P& G).
The company's Newcastle technical centre (NTC), at Longbenton, delivered them just in time for Christmas.
Andrew Graydon, NTC's community matters co-ordinator visited the primary school and said: "It's fantastic that our computers are being put to such good use.
"The laptops are not very old, but we regularly update them and it makes sense to give some of the ones we replace to schools and groups which can make use of them.''
Acting headteacher Diane Abbott said: "We are very grateful to P&G for the laptops. It has allowed us to expand our existing programme of ICT classes and to use ICT a lot more as part of other lessons to.
"We now have laptops for every child in year 5 and 6."
